As Israel shows its compassion for cancer patients in the world, it prevents 50% of cancer patients in Gaza from treatment every year
Israeli media actively promotes the so-called “humanity of Israel” and tries to show it as sympathetic to cancer patients after lighting up the Israeli Defense Ministry building pink, coinciding with the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities in October.
Palestinian human rights reports confirm that the Israeli occupation annually prevents more than 50 percent of cancer patients in the Gaza Strip from traveling for treatment, leading to the deaths of hundreds of them.
Extremist Israeli settlers steal olive trees from Palestinian land in Salfit
A group of extremist Israeli settlers were caught last night stealing olive trees from Palestinian-owned land north of the town of Salfit in the occupied West Bank.
Local residents said last night they caught a group of Israeli settlers stealing more than 26 olive trees from a Palestinian land of 51 dunums, near the illegal settlement of Ari’el.
Israeli troops harass and arrest Palestinian woman in Jerusalem
Israeli occupation forces harassed and arrested a Palestinian woman in Bab al-Amud Square in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday night.
More than 12 soldiers from the Israeli Defense Forces surrounded the Palestinian woman in Bab al-Amud Square last night and then arrested her for no apparent reason.
Video footage shows Palestinians in the area trying to prevent the troops from arresting the woman, but the troops harassed and threatened them.
Israeli army kidnaps five Palestinians in Jerusalem
Israeli soldiers abducted five young men from their homes at dawn on Monday in the city of al-‘Issawiya, in occupied Jerusalem.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan, Silwanic, the soldiers raided the town before breaking into and searching several houses and kidnapping the five young men.
The abducted Palestinians have been identified as Ali Sofian Obeid, Adam Shafiq Obeid, Eyas Hussein Obeid, Mohammad Bassam Elyan and Mohammad Bakr Mustafa.
The soldiers also called in another young man for questioning, identified as Mo’tasem Hamza Obeid.
Soldiers kidnap three Palestinians in Ramallah and Bethlehem
Israeli soldiers kidnapped three Palestinians, including a former political prisoner, at dawn on Monday in Ramallah and Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said several army jeeps raided the At-Tira neighborhood of the West Bank’s central governorate, Ramallah, ransacked homes and kidnapped a former political prisoner identified as Omar Barghouti, 21.
Report: 26 Israeli violations against journalists in September
Israeli forces attacked 26 members of the media in September, the Journalist Support Committee (JSC) announced yesterday.
A report by JSC shows that about 10 journalists were attacked and injured by Israeli occupation forces and settlers in September.
“The occupation forces arrested and detained more than three journalists and renewed the arrest of three others,” the report said.
JSC pointed out that the occupation authorities also “prevented five journalists from carrying out their work, one from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for a year and another from traveling.”
Israeli soldiers block road with stones at Jenin
Israeli soldiers on Sunday placed large stones to close a road near the town of Ya’bad, west of the city of Jenin in the north of the West Bank, and installed a roadblock on a nearby road before stopping cars and the questioned Palestinians.
Media sources said the soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers, invaded an area near the Emreiha area, south of the city of Ya’bad, and installed the rocks to close off a minor road leading to large swaths of Palestinian land and various surrounding areas.
They added that the soldiers forced the Palestinians to leave the area after claiming it is now a closed zone, without giving any explanation.
The EU’s shameful complicity in Israeli aggression against Palestinians
Last week, the European Parliament passed an amendment to block €20 million ($23 million) for aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) if immediate changes are not made that would promote “coexistence and tolerance” with promote the Israeli occupation to Palestinian textbooks.
According to the amendment, Palestinian curricula must promote peace with the Israeli occupation on the basis of the two-state solution, which the EU believes is still the best and only way to solve Israel’s settler-colonial enterprise. The EU also wanted Palestinian curricula to be cleared of alleged hate speech against Israel.
Israel continues to ignore increasing settler violence against Palestinians
Violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank has increased dramatically over the past two years as Israeli officials continue to cover them up, Haaretz reported Sunday.
Israeli journalist Yaniv Kubovich reported that the first half of 2021 witnessed 416 anti-Palestinian incidents, pointing out that this is almost equal to the figure for all of 2020 (507 incidents) and higher than 2019 (363 incidents).
An Israeli army official said the change of approach is particularly noticeable at the Israel Defense Forces Central Command, which oversees the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank.
