Swedish ship to be sent to Gaza to help break decade-long blockade

A Sweden-based NGO is planning to launch a new anti-siege voyage to the Gaza Strip in several months from now.

Spokeswoman for the Ship to Gaza Foundation, Ellen Hansson, told Anadolu Agency on Friday that they had bought a 20-meter ship from Britain, adding that the convoy will set sail in May 2018.

Hansson added that the small vessels taking part in the campaign will be launched from France while the big ones will head to Gaza via the ocean.

She pointed out that the International Freedom Flotilla also intends to join the campaign.

Hansson denounced the US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel saying, “This decision will bring tears, not peace, to Jerusalem.”
