Israeli releases Jerusalem governor to house arrest, together with 9 Fatah members


JERUSALEM, PALESTINOW.COM — The Israeli Central court released on Sunday the Palestinian Authority’s Jerusalem Governor, Adnan Gheith, together with nine other members of Fatah faction in the city after a week-long detention.

According to the lawyer Mohamed Mahmoud, Gheith was released along with nine Fatah activists under strict conditions, which include being banned from entry to the occupied West Bank for two consecutive weeks and paying a financial bail.

Conditions of the release also include house arrest for five days.

Gheith was arrested from his home in Silwan neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem on November 25, the second such arrest in about one month.
