Israeli MK tries to break into room of hunger-striking Palestinian prisoner

A member of the Israeli Knesset tried on Tuesday to break into the room of Palestinian prisoner Miqdad Qawasmi, who has been on hunger strike for 90 days and is currently being held at Kaplan Hospital.

Israeli forces invade Palestinian homes in Qalandia, injure two, arrest five Palestinians

Israeli occupation forces raided Palestinian homes before dawn on Tuesday in the Qalandia camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, wounding two and arresting at least five Palestinians.
Local sources said that during a predawn raid on the Qalandia camp on Tuesday, Israeli forces stormed, ransacked and looted several Palestinian homes, turning them upside down.

Israel approves West Bank residence for 4,000 undocumented Palestinians

Israel announced on Tuesday that it has approved registration as residents of the West Bank for some 4,000 Palestinians who have lived in the Israeli-occupied territory for years without official status.
The decision affects 2,800 former residents of the Gaza Strip who left the enclave after the Hamas movement captured it in internal Palestinian fighting in 2007, Israel’s COGAT liaison office for the Palestinians said.
About 1,200 other Palestinians, including undocumented spouses and children of West Bank residents, will also receive official status.

Israeli settlers attack Palestinians in olive grove near Bethlehem

A group of illegal Israeli settlers on Tuesday attacked many Palestinians as they picked their olive trees in their orchards, west of the town of Nahhalin, west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Hasan Breijiyya, the head of the Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission’s Bethlehem office, said the settlers came from the illegal Daniel colony, which was built on stolen Palestinian land.
Breijiyya added that the settlers attacked Ayed Abdul-Aziz and his family while they were picking their trees in their olive groves in the Banias area, in the western part of the village.

Soldiers kidnap a Palestinian man near Ramallah

Israeli soldiers abducted a Palestinian man at dawn on Tuesday in the village of Rantis, northwest of the central city of Ramallah in the West Bank.
At least five armored military vehicles raided the village before more than 20 soldiers surrounded Ibrahim Khalaf’s house and tried to break in the front door, but he opened it and the soldiers broke into the grounds and looted it.

Including journalists, Israeli soldiers kidnap 16 Palestinians in Jerusalem

Israeli soldiers abducted 16 Palestinians Monday night and attacked dozens, including two journalists, in the Bab al-Amoud area of the occupied capital Jerusalem, the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan, Silwanic, reported.
Silwanic said dozens of soldiers and police officers pursued, detained and assaulted many Palestinians, including children, before kidnapping a journalist identified as Ahmad Abu Sbeih.
Silwanic also stated that the soldiers attacked a female journalist, identified as Nisreen Salem, along with her sister Sajda and their mother, causing several cuts and bruises, before kidnapping Nisreen.

Earlier this morning, Israeli Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked officially notified 36-year-old Palestinian-French human rights defender Salah Hammouri of the withdrawal of his permanent residency status in Jerusalem on the basis of a “breach of allegiance to the State of Israel.”
This decision comes after approval by Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit and Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar. His residency revocation and forced deportation, pursuant to Amendment 30 to the 1952 Entry into Israel Act, comes after the Israeli apartheid regime’s targeted campaign of intimidation against Salah Hammouri, an outspoken Palestinian human rights lawyer, who has been a longtime associate at Addameer Prisoner. Support and Human Rights Association is, and ex-prisoner.

Israel withdraws ID of Jerusalemite Palestinian-French former political prisoner

The Israeli government, its “Ministry of Justice” and “Ministry of the Interior” have approved the withdrawal of the residence permit and identity card in Jerusalem of a Palestinian-born lawyer from Jerusalem, who is also a French citizen and a former political prisoner.
Amjad Abu Assab, the head of the Jerusalem Detainees’ Committee, said the “legal adviser” to the Israeli Ministry of Justice has approved the revocation of Salah al-Hammouri’s identity card.
He denounced the decision, saying it is yet another Israeli attempt to evict Palestinians from their city.

19 Palestinian Journalists in Israeli Prisons

Israeli occupation forces yesterday rounded up Al Mayadeen Channel, 69, in the occupied West Bank, raising the number of Palestinian journalists and writers in the prisons of the occupation to 19, the Journalists Support Committee (JSC) said.
The JSC said in a statement that Israeli occupation forces raided Qatamesh’s home in the West Bank town of Al-Bireh and took him away.
There are currently 14 reporters, correspondents, producers, photographers and cameramen held in Israeli prisons, along with five writers and thinkers, the JSC said.
Qatamesh, the JSC said, had been detained several times in the past and spent a total of 14 years in the prisons of the occupation.
