Last night the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that more than 105 Palestinians were injured during confrontations with the Israeli police and settlers. Among these injuries 30 were described as moderate being transferred to hospital, whilst the remainder were treated on scene of the confrontations.
Dozens of Palestinian residents had fainted after being sprayed with chemical waste-water when leaving Tarawih prayers. Tarawih prayers are a form of night prayers (qiyam alial) as are offered after the Isha prayers until Fajir (or the dawn prayer time) sets in.
Meanwhile, Israeli police were seen escorting extremist settlers out from Damascus Gate “bab al-amoud” without arresting them – despite the fact that they assaulted a number of Jerusalemites.
Resistance factions in Gaza strongly cautioned that their people will sacrifice their lives in order to support Palestine and its people. They added, that “all the people of Gaza are on a call to revoke all agreements and turn this table upside down for the sake of their issue”
Khalil Al-Hayya, leader in Hamas in Gaza said, “we send messages to this evil entity that its measures, suppression and incursions can not destroy, intimidate, and dissuade Palestinians young people from their strong will, firm positions, lofty aspirations, and that all its policies will be confronted with a solid Palestinian will that adheres to Jerusalem in defense of its sanctities and identity.”
On Friday morning, more than 60,000 worshipers performed the second Friday prayer of Ramadan at Al-Aqsa Mosque; despite the intensification of the occupation and the arrests of Jerusalemites.
The Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Homes, the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, said that our people arrived at the Al-Aqsa Mosque despite all the occupation measures that all monotheistic religions reject, all international and humanitarian norms and all international laws.
