Israeli troops arrest six Palestinians from West Bank
According to local and security sources, Israeli occupation forces detained six Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank on Wednesday evening.
They said Israeli forces detained a Palestinian after stopping him at a checkpoint at the entrance to the town of Arraba, south of the northern city of Jenin in the West Bank.
The detainee was identified as a university student and a relative of one of six inmates who managed to escape from the highly fortified Gilboa Prison on Monday.
In Jerusalem, Israeli soldiers have re-arrested a former prisoner after breaking into his family home in the Qalandiya refugee camp, north of the city.
PPS: Israel bans family visits for Palestinian prisoners
Israel has banned family visits for Palestinian prisoners until the end of the month, according to the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Citing the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the PPS said Israeli occupation authorities have canceled family visits for Palestinian prisoners until the end of this month following the current simmering tensions in prisons.
The PPS announcement came after Israeli special forces and soldiers squatted several prisons, including Ketziot’s Section 6 at Naqab and Rimon Prisons, in an attempt to disperse some 400 inmates affiliated with Islamic Jihad and moving them to other prisons, prompting inmates to set seven cells on fire.
Israel cancels all visits to Palestinian detainees in its prisons
The International Red Cross announced Thursday morning that Israeli authorities have canceled all visits to Palestinian detainees in all its prisons, detention centers and interrogation centers until the end of September, after six detainees managed to escape from the Gilboa high-security Israeli prison.
The Red Cross said it had informed the families of the Israeli decision, which came after the prisoners escaped.
The cancellation also means that lawyers are not allowed to visit the detainees.
It is worth noting that dozens of Israeli soldiers and special forces operating in the detention camps have carried out mass invasions and searches of Gilboa and all prisons where Palestinian political prisoners are held.This included the serious escalation by the Prison Authority against the detainees in all its prisons.
Dozens injured in Israeli troops raid on Jenin village
Dozens were injured Wednesday night when Israeli forces raided the village of Arraba, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, local sources confirmed.
They said Israeli forces opened fire on the villagers during clashes that broke out in the village, suffocating dozens of people from tear gas.
They added that the troops are setting up a checkpoint at the intersection leading to the village, stopping Palestinian-registered vehicles, questioning passengers and checking their ID cards.
Jewish settlers damage several Palestinian cars in Hebron
A horde of extremist Jewish settlers last night caused extensive damage to multiple Palestinian vehicles near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the old city of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank.
Local activist Aref Jaber said settlers from the illegal settlement of Kiryat Arba infiltrated the Jaber neighborhood at night near the Ibrahimi Mosque and raged through the streets, denting several parked cars and breaking their windows.
Israeli settlers attack Palestinian homes and vehicles in Hebron
Extremist Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes and vehicles on Wednesday night in the Jaber neighborhood of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, causing damage.
Local sources said a group of extremist settlers attacked Palestinian homes and vehicles in the Jaber neighborhood and smashed their windshields.
Palestinian residents tried to stop the settlers from attacking their properties, but Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters at them.
Israeli army kidnaps two Palestinians in Jerusalem
Israeli soldiers on Thursday kidnapped two Palestinians, including a former political prisoner, in the Qalandia refugee camp and the city of Silwan, in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
Local sources in Qalandia, north of occupied Jerusalem, said several army jeeps raided the refugee camp before the soldiers ransacked a few houses.
They added that the soldiers kidnapped a former political prisoner identified as Aseed Nasser az-Zeer, 23, from his home in the al-Jabal neighborhood.
In addition, the soldiers kidnapped Mohammad Mousa Abbassi, from the Shayyah neighborhood of the city of Silwan, while he was in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Soldiers kidnap a Palestinian near Hebron
Israeli soldiers kidnapped a young Palestinian man on Thursday from his home near Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said several Israeli army jeeps raided the city of Doura, south of Hebron, before the soldiers stormed and ransacked homes.
They added that the soldiers kidnapped a young man, identified as Abdul-Rahim Darabee, and took him to an unknown destination.
The soldiers also installed roadblocks in various parts of Hebron Governorate before stopping and searching cars, and interrogated many Palestinians as they inspected their ID cards.
