Harvard Law School Recognizes ‘Israel’ as Apartheid Regime

The US-based Harvard Law School has recognized “Israel” as an apartheid regime.
In a recent report to the UN, Harvard Law School’s International Human Rights Clinic recognized the apartheid nature of the Israeli regime.
The report was in response to a call for submissions from the UN’s Independent International Commission of Inquiry into the OPT and “Israel.”
Addameer​, in collaboration with the International Human Rights Clinic of Harvard Law School, contributed to the joint submission.
It analyzes whether Israel’s legal regime in the occupied West Bank violates the prohibition of apartheid under international law.

Soldiers kidnap a Palestinian in Jerusalem

On Sunday, Israeli soldiers kidnapped a young Palestinian man in the town of Silwan and raided the city of al-Issawiya, in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
Local sources said the soldiers stopped and kidnapped Mohammad Yahia Jaber in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan.
The soldiers also raided the town of al-Issawiya before stopping and frisking many young men while inspecting their ID cards.

Israeli army kidnaps a former political prisoner near Jenin

At dawn on Sunday, Israeli soldiers kidnapped a former political prisoner near Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
The Jenin office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said the kidnapped Palestinian was identified as Ziad Arsan Hafeth Kilani.
The prosecution said Kilani, from the village of Saris, south of Jenin, works as a taxi driver and was stopped by the soldiers at a military roadblock near Deir Sharaf, northwest of Nablus, in the north of the West Bank.
The soldiers also stopped and searched dozens of cars and interrogated many Palestinians as they inspected their ID cards.

Army kidnaps teenage boy in Nablus

At dawn on Sunday, Israeli soldiers raided the village of Tal, southwest of Nablus in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, ransacked homes and kidnapped a teenager.
Media sources said the invasion was carried out by several armored military jeeps before the soldiers stormed and ransacked homes.
They added that the soldiers kidnapped Saleh Yassin Aseeda, 17, from his home and took him to an unknown location.

Army kidnaps seven Palestinians in Hebron

At dawn on Sunday, Israeli soldiers raided the towns of Sa’ir, as-Samu’ and Yatta, in the southern governorate of Hebron in the West Bank, ransacked and ransacked many homes before kidnapping seven young Palestinian men.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said several army vehicles invaded Sa’ir City, northeast of Hebron, searched several homes and kidnapped Hakam Hamed Shalalda, Rafat Yousef Shalalda, Mohammad Ibrahim Shalalda and Ibrahim Issa Shalalda.

Israeli soldiers kidnap three Palestinians after illegal settlers attacked them in Jerusalem

Israeli soldiers abducted three young Palestinian men Friday night after illegal Israeli settlers attacked several residents of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank.
Media sources said the settlers attacked several Palestinians in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood, north of the old city, before locals intercepted the attack and tried to force the attackers away.
They added that Israeli soldiers invaded the neighborhood, attacked the Palestinians who fend off the settlers’ attack, and kidnapped three young men, Mahmoud Oweisat, Fares Oweisat and Ahmad Oweisat.

PPS: “31 women, including ten mothers, imprisoned by Israel”

In a report released Sunday, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said that while various parts of the world, including Palestine, prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day (March 21), Israel is still detaining twenty-one women, including ten mothers.
The prosecution said Israel does not allow the families allowed to visit their captive loved ones to have any physical contact, as they must always speak while separated by barriers; therefore, detained mothers cannot hug or even touch their children, and the occupation authorities continue to deny detainees the right to communicate with their families by telephone or otherwise.

Israeli army invades al-Issawiya village in occupied Jerusalem

On Friday evening, Israeli forces invaded the village of al-‘Issawiya, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. The troops attacked Ghazab Abu Asab‘s home in the village of Al-‘Issawiya, leading to clashes with local youths.
Dozens of young men took to the streets when the army invaded and started throwing rocks at the soldiers and yelling at the soldiers to leave. Israeli soldiers fired a barrage of tear gas canisters, causing many Palestinians to suffer tear gas inhalation.

Army fires gas bombs and fires at farmers, herders, in Gaza

On Saturday, Israeli soldiers fired several bullets and gas bombs at Palestinian farmers and herders in the central and southern parts of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israeli police shoot Palestinian man, seriously injured in occupied Jerusalem

Israeli police shot and wounded a young Palestinian man on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed and injured an illegal Israeli settler near the old city of occupied Jerusalem, local sources reported.
Hebrew media alleged that the young man stabbed an illegal settler in occupied Jerusalem, sustaining minor injuries. The settler was transferred to Shaare Zedek Hospital.
It added that police shot the young Palestinian man at the “Al-Thawri neighborhood” intersection in Jerusalem before he was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
A video shows at least eight Israeli police officers, proving that they had a chance to overpower and detain the unarmed young man, without using lethal force.

Soldiers attack sick detainee in Megiddo prison

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that Israeli soldiers at Megiddo Prison attacked a sick Palestinian political prisoner, causing several cuts and severe bruises.
The prosecution said the detainee, Khalil Mousa Misbah, from Jenin refugee camp in the north of the West Bank, was attacked by several soldiers in his solitary confinement cell at Megiddo Prison.
It added that Khalil, who was kidnapped in 2003 and sentenced to 20 years in prison, is one of dozens of distressed inmates who are constantly being violated and denied the right to proper medical treatment.
